DEEP LISTENING WORKSHOPS

When we are capable of deep listening, we are capable of authentic connection and brave relationships.

Our Deep Listening Workshops are specifically designed to help people better understand the significance and beauty of fully listening. We have found that when people have the practical and emotional foundation to listen to others, they are able to find sacred and profound connection with people from all walks of life; Even those who are perceived to be "different" from them.

The more we listen to those marginalized and forgotten in our society, the more we are capable of meeting their needs, welcoming them into our communities, and empowering them to grow.

WHY DEEP LISTENING?

Deep Listening is founded on the principle that listening, and the ability to listen, is the foundation of healthy human connection and relationships. Whether we are at home with loved ones or interacting with colleagues in the workplace, many forget how important listening is. Yet without listening, we do not communicate, we cannot resolve conflict, and we are distrustful and disconnected from those around us.

Deep Listening calls us to slow down, find patience and compassion, and be fully present with ourselves and our boundaries. Because of this, it is an inherently safe practice, as the focal point is, surprisingly enough, ourselves as individuals. Deep Listening, in fact, helps us to find a deeper connection with ourselves. It promotes vulnerability, the development of healthy relationships, and a practical place to begin living from the heart.

THE WORKSHOP

This workshop lasts 6-7 hours. It can be broken up into three longer sessions, or 5+ shorter sessions. This workshop provides a non-denominational, inter-spiritual space, and can be adjusted to meet the specific spiritual or religious needs of your community. This is highly recomended for groups that have little to no experience with those who are unhoused and incarcerated, and acts as a basic foundation for the formation of allies and communities of belonging.

This workshop is highly interactive, engaging, and fun. It is a mixture of short lectures, discussions on topics like the experience of listening/being listened to, boundaries, body-language, communication, fear/judgment, and more, and one-on-one sessions where we get to practice the topics/tools we are talking about with each other in real time.

Group Minimum: 10 People

Our trainings are open and welcome to all who would like to participate. Work with TOF to help bring radical, lasting positive transformation to your community.
